Im a cynic and I dont belive in true love. Controversial ay? Well, I belive that anyone can love someone, but that there isnt one particular person for everyone out there. If that were the case, what are the chances that we would ever meet our beloved? If my personal Prince Charming, the only one compatible with me, happens to live on a little greek island far far away from Naij, England, and the USA (my usual haunts) , chances are, we would never meet and I would be destined for a life of spinsterhood. *Im hopefully going to Greece this summer with my girlies soooo if the above scenario were true....im coming to getcha Romeo lol*
I do belive however, that people can love freely (more than once). I dont mean the silly sentimental *starstruck* 'I cant live without you' kind of love. I mean the Love which conquers all, where the loved one is respected, cherished and...
"Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent." — Ludwig Wittgenstein
Love is ineffable, meaning it cannot be expressed in spoken word, the concept of love is to complex to explain... *hence the silence. My ex always used to tell me he loved me, so one day I asked him what he meant by love. He then replied proudly and with utter conviction that his love for me was 'A strong feeling of affection'. He still does'nt understand why I was so offended or why I came to the conclusion that he is an ignoramus.
I just think that using the word love, especially in situations where it can be misconstrued is a definite NoNo. Telling a new friend that you love him/her is fine. Telling a potential boyfriend on your second date that you love him/her, errr...not so fine. Telling someone you have just met that you love them is especially freaky. Any guy bar my friends and family telling me he loves me is on a looongtin as I am only 18 and not ready for no 'baby daddy' lol.
Once I got with a 22year old (he was the oldest guy Iv ever gotten with, and I was on the rebound, freee me lol) (btw when I say got with, I only mean hooked up...asin...no below the belt action!) he then proceeded to plan our future together. I'm not sure if he had forgotten that I'm 18 and have yet to got to Uni. I had only even used the word like. Silly boy. Anyway needless to say, I escaped sharp sharp before I found myself in a big white dress with a ring on my finger.
*off on a tangent*
Im no expert, but it seems to me that guys are getting more...clingy. Okay so I'm only talking from my limited experience, and all my girlfriends experiences but it seems like its always the guy begging 'don't leave meeeee, I cant live without youuuuu' I thought it was supposed to be girls who were the bunny boilers?
YIKES
I want to fall in love when I'm older, but I want to have fun first! Where are all the real men, who wont kiss my arse? Maybe I shouldn't want to meet a 'real man' until I'm ready for the big C....(commitment! *I'm a bit of a commitmentophobe lol) in the meantime... if they say 'I love you'...standard answers are 'Thanx' or 'Aw babes, your so sweet'. Sometimes one mite even get away with 'I love me too!'
I have just realised how random this post is. Oh well!
